Homage To P V Narasimha Rao On Death Anniversary
On the 13th death anniversary of former PM P V Narasimha Rao, top ministers and political leaders paid obeisances to him.

On the occasion of the 13th death anniversary of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, top ministers and political leaders including Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, Home Minister Naini Narshimha Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, former CM K Rosaiah, former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and Government Advisor K V Ramanachary gathered on the Necklace Road with family members of the late premier where they paid rich tributes to him.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that the late former PM was a great statesman and stalwart of Indian politics who was instrumental in steering the nation to rapid development in all sectors by introducing several financial reforms in the country.
Home Minister Naini Narshimha Reddy attributed the current level of technological development to the initiatives of the former Prime Minister. Stating that the contributions of Rao had taken the country to new heights and enabled it to compete with the US and other developed nations in the world, Reddy said that if the nation was progressing rapidly today, it was all thanks to the steps Rao had taken at the national level.
Paying his respects to the late Prime Minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the former PM was an exceptional leader who had vast knowledge that he implemented effectively for the development of the nation. Rao was the only person who successfully ran a minority government at the Centre for five years, he said, and expressed hope that the nation, too, would follow his ideals for development.
BJP leader Dattatreya, too, showered similar compliments upon the erstwhile PM, saying that Rao had led the country to speedy growth with his dynamic brand of economics.
Other attendees at the gathering BC Commission chairman B S Ramulu and member V Krishnamohan, said that it was Rao who as Chief Minister and Prime Minister had implemented reservations for BCs in employment and education, ensuring social justice for all.
Rao had also brought in simplified financial reforms; started the Navodaya schools and the Telugu Academy; and introduced English medium education in village schools, he added.
