Spreading the message of cleansing the city to help it look beautiful, Telangana home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Union minister for labour Bandaru Dattatreya participated in the Swachch Hyderabad and the Swachch Telangana programs at chosen localities in the twin cities on Sunday.
During the visit, the ministers removed garbage and dumped the same into waiting tractors.
At Jamisthanpur near Musheerabad, Reddy physically shifted the garbage and trash into the vehicles.
Dattatreya and BJP senior leader Dr K Lakshman participated in a similar program at the Musheerabad Fish Market under the Ram Nagar area.
They asked the people to cooperate in keeping their areas clean and green.
They removed garbage and dirt from the area.
Dattatreya said that the Centre would give funds to the states to take up clean drive programs, and that the people should come forward to create a healthy atmosphere through active participation.
Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy attended a cleanliness drive at Bagh Amberpet, while Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy participated in the Swachch Hyderabad drive at Patancheru.
Prominent BC leader and TDP MLA R Krishnaiah walked down several areas, including Mamathanagar under the L B Nagar segment. (NSS)
