Extending thanks to Chief Minster K Chandrashekar Rao for offering him a berth in the Telangana cabinet, Chamakura Malla Reddy today said that he would work as per the former's directions for the state's development, and remain loyal to KCR his entire life.
"The minister post is something I had never dreamed of. I never expected to become a minister in my life, and it was offered by KCR," Reddy, who owns multiple educational institutions, said after taking oath as minister at Raj Bhavan.
"I have been working for the cause of the poor, for the ruling party and for the development of the state. I will work even harder now for a golden Telangana, and discharge my duties efficiently in whatever portfolio is given by the Chief Minister," he added.
Another minister, S Niranjan Reddy, echoed similar sentiments. He said that he was fortunate to work with KCR, and expressed pleasure that he was made a minister though he was elected as an MLA for the first time.
"KCR has been very kind to me always. Though I had lost the 2014 polls by a slender margin, he still made me the Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Commission," he said, adding that that experience would help him function better as a minister.
Jagadish Reddy said that he was happy to take over as a minister for the second consecutive time. "I am ready to take up any responsibility given by the Chief Minister, and will remain loyal to the party and the people. I played a key role in the TRS victory in Nalgonda district and got the post," he said. The Cabinet expansion was based on several equations, he said.
