In an incident that hinted that a revival of friendship between the MIM and Congress might be possible in the near future, Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, on Tuesday, called on Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha on Tuesday.
Although the MIM leaders gave an impression that they met the Deputy Chief Minister to know the recent developments in Delhi over the Telangana issue, analysts feel otherwise.
Akbaruddin Owaisi is known for his anti-Telangana stand while Raja Narasimha is a strong advocate of the formation of a separate Telangana state. Therefore, analysts have concluded that Telangana could not have been the sole agendum of the meeting between the two politicians.
However, MIM leaders maintained that Akbar Owaisi and Deputy Chief Minister discussed the
roadmap presentation made by the latter at the Core Committee meeting held on July 12 in New Delhi. (INN)
