AIMIM members today walked out of the Telangana Legislative Assembly in protest against the way the proceedings were being conducted.
MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi expressed his strong displeasure over the State government's handling of the Assembly.
"The government has failed to run the Legislative Assembly. Will they murder democracy here? It is unacceptable for the ruling party to act this way. This government has completely failed in running the Assembly. They are not answering members' questions and are even altering them. This is a blatant attack on democracy. We are walking out in protest against the Congress government's behaviour. This is not Gandhi Bhavan - this is the Assembly. It should be run like an Assembly, not like Gandhi Bhavan," Owaisi said.
He also accused the ruling party of allocating more time to the Opposition while denying AIMIM members the opportunity to speak and not giving the microphone to AIMIM legislators when they wished to address the House.
