The much-hyped meeting of the Congress Core Committee, held in Hyderabad on Friday evening, failed to arrive at the much-awaited decision on the Telangana issue.
"The congress party has extensively consulted all the political parties, and prominent political leaders.
The core group has also met the Chief Minster, the Deputy Chief Minister and the PCC Chief separately, and has heard their individual representations on this matter," AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh said after the meeting.
He also added that the issue would now be discussed with the Congress Working Committee and a decision will soon be taken.
Earlier, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy CM Damodar Rajanarasimha and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana ahd presented their separate road-maps on Telangana.
It has been reported that the CM spoke for about 1 hour, while the Deputy CM spoke for 22 minutes, and the PCC chief chose to keep his presentation short, and ended after 16 minutes.
While the Deputy CM advocated the formation of a separate Telangana state, Kiran Kumar Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana reportedly opined that it (formation of a separate Telangana) will not be a wise move. (INN)
