Nayani Blames Railways For Medak Bus Accident

The Telangana Home Minister said that the railway department was never serious about erecting gates at unmanned railway crossings.

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy blamed the South Central Railway for the school bus - train collision in Masayipet of Veldhurthi mandal of the Medak district which claimed the lives of at least 20 school children on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons after visiting the injured at Yashoda Hospital, Nayani said that the railway department was never serious about erecting gates at unmanned railway crossings.

He said that proper precaution by the SCR would have prevented this tragedy.

He demanded that the Union Ministry of Railways announce a relief package for the victims of the Masayipet mishap, and also take immediate steps to prevent such incidents in the future. (INN)
