Tight security arrangements are in place for the four IPL 2026 matches scheduled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, in April.
Nearly 2,000 police personnel, 430 CCTV cameras, bomb squads and mounted police will ensure safety at the venue, which can accommodate around 39,000 spectators.
Additional measures include SHE Teams for safety, special squads to curb black ticketing, and ambulance services and fire engines.
Authorities have issued a traffic advisory, anticipating congestion around Uppal on match days. Key routes between Nagole, Habsiguda and Ramanthapur are expected to be crowded, and commuters have been advised to use public transport. Heavy vehicles are being diverted - those travelling from Warangal to Hyderabad via Uppal will take the ORR at Ghatkesar and proceed via Abdullapurmet - L B Nagar - Dilsukhnagar, and those travelling from Hyderabad to Warangal via Uppal will proceed through L B Nagar - Hayathnagar and take the ORR at Abdullapurmet to reach Warangal.
Spectators must follow strict security guidelines. Items including laptops, bags, water bottles and outside food are prohibited. Entry will be permitted three hours before the match, and no cloakroom facility will be available.
Digital ticketing will be introduced for the matches from April 13 to streamline entry into the stadium.
