Majlis Bachao Tehreek leader Amjedullah Khan Khaled, on Wednesday, submitted a memorandum to the chief electoral officer Bhanwarlal seeking the latter's intervention to get permission to conduct public meetings.
In his representation, Khaled alleged that the Hyderabad city police has been asking the MBT to first get permission from the municipal authorities to organise public meetings.
However, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has been refusing to give permission stating that there was no precedent of municipal corporations permitting public meetings of this nature.
He demanded that the Election Commission should intervene and bring some clarity on the issue.
Khaled also complained that the flexis and hoardings of a particular party had not been removed from the city's landscape, despite the orders of the High Court in this regard. (INN)
