Nizamabad Member of Parliament Madhu Yaskhi, on Saturday, said that he had submitted memorandums to the state government urging it to concede to the demand of 42% quota in jobs for Group-1 qualifiers from Telangana region.
Yaskhi told media persons at his residence that the government's stance over the issue has put it on the path of confrontation with the students. The MP said that it appears that the government is moving ahead with its decision to go ahead with the G-1 exams, having already made its mind to quell any protest by brute force.
Yaskhi wondered if the government is run by the people or by the police, since it is relying on the police to ward off any protests over the G-1 exams.
He also warned the government that if it does not concede to the demands of the OUSJAC - including the 42% quota and the suspension of APPSC Chairman Venkatarami Reddy - he will participate in the bandh. He said that he would be the first person to face police bullets if the situation arises.
The MP also warned the government that it should be prepared to own responsibility if any students commits suicide over the issue or any untoward incident occurs.
On the other hand, Peddapalli MP G Vivek said that students of Telangana region are not fully prepared for the exams.
He said that he was apprehensive that Andhra and Rayalaseema candidates would outperform students from Telangana in the G-1 exams since their studies had been affected by the continuous protests and agitations in the region over the separate statehood issue.
