Even as the protests by Telangana students continue over the holding of the Group-1 preliminary exams, Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Chairman Venkatrami Reddy, on Saturday, said that all necessary arrangements have been made for their smooth conduct on schedule.
Talking to media persons, Venkatrami said that invigilators and other officials are ready to conduct the exam. He said that the invigilators and officials were aware of the threat to disrupt the exams but are confident by the presence of additional security forces.
The APPSC chairman further said that postponement of exams was not in his hands. He added that the APPSC would abide by any decision taken by the government over the holding of the exams.
The APPSC was going ahead with the premise that the exams would be held on schedule and arrangement in 445 centres state-wide has been made, he said.
Venkatrami Reddy revealed that around 1.9 lakh students have applied for APPSC from all over the state, and, so far, 1.3 lakh students have downloaded their hall tickets.
