The strike by the lorry owners of AP and Telangana entered its sixth day today. Some five lakh lorries have gone off the road in the two Telugu states due to the strike.
The Lorry Owners' Association has so far exempted vehicles transporting emergency goods like medicines, milk and vegetables from the strike. However, the association warned the government that it would lift the exemption if the latter failed to concede its demands.
The association has been demanding that the government bring diesel under GST and reduce third party insurance premium.
The common people have been facing increasing trouble due to the strike.
