The regular service of the Vande Bharat Express operating between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam has evoked huge response from passengers.
This was reflected in the occupancy ratio for the first three days of the regular service of the train, which has consistently witnessed full capacity utilisation.
The regular services of the train started on January 16, with bookings opened only on January 14. Despite that, the train has witnessed huge patronage from rail passengers for the first three days.
For the journey from Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad, the average occupancy for the first three days (January 16, 17 and 18) was 99%, 144% and 149% respectively.
Similarly, for the journey from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam, the average occupancy for the first three days was 122%, 147% and 117% respectively.
The occupancy given above for the third day on January 18 is only tentative as it has been taken at the time of charting at the initial stations. The final occupancy ratio is likely to be higher at the end of the journey after taking into account current bookings.
The train appears to be fast becoming the most preferred option for day journey travel between the two stations, as well as for intermediate stations - Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry.
The train consists of 14 AC Chair Car coaches and 2 Executive AC Chair Car coaches with 1,024 and 104 seats respectively, totalling 1,128.
