The Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, M T Krishna Babu, on Thursday said that as per the Animal Birth Control (Dog) Rules 2007 of the GHMC, owners of pet dogs needed to compulsorily take licenses for their pets.
The owners of the dogs can get the licenses by paying an amount of Rs. 50 per dog per year, and Rs. 1,000 per dog per year for Breeder Dogs (Kennels), from Govt. Veterinary Hospitals, private pet clinics, the Blue Cross of Hyderabad (Jubilee Hills) or Citizen Service Centers at the Parking Complexes at Abids and Khairtabad, in the limits of the Central Zone, GHMC.
A receipt will be given for the amount paid, and a dog token will be issued for licensing the dog. The pet dog licensing will start from 12th May 2013 for the year 2013-14. (INN)
