Rs 10 Lakh Compensation From GHMC To Stray Dog Victim's Family
Rs 8 lakh will be given from the corporation's funds, and Rs 2 lakh from contributions from a month's salary of all the corporators of the city.

The GHMC has announced that it would give a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family members of the four-year-old boy who was mauled to death by a group of stray dogs.
Rs 8 lakh will be given by the corporation from its funds, and the remaining Rs 2 lakh will be given from contributions from a month's salary of all the corporators of the city.
The corporation took this decision following the issuance of notices by the Telangana High Court in connection with the tragic death of the boy.
For the uninitiated, a division bench headed by the Chief Justice of the State Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and comprising of Justice N Tukaram took suo moto cognisance of the incident and issued notices to the Chief Secretary of the State, the Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department, the GHMC Commissioner, the Hyderabad district Collector and the legal services authority.
It asked them to submit their detailed counter in the issue, and adjourned the matter to March 16.
