The TDP seems to be facing endless setbacks not only in Telangana but in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh as well. Days after former Telangana TDP chief L Ramana
resigned from the party to join the TRS, former Sringavarapukota MLA Shobha Hymavathi also put in her papers today.
Hymavathi said that she had taken the decision as she was not getting "proper recognition" for her services in the party, and that she often felt "ignored" as a result.
"I do not even receive any invitations or calls to attend the party's meetings. The TDP high command does not seem to believe in treating loyal party members well," she alleged.
Though the leader resigned from the yellow party just hours ago, rumours that she will likely join the YSR Congress Party, and has already laid the groundwork for this shift, are already doing the rounds.
This resignation is bound to leave the party reeling as apart from being an MLA, Hymavathi had also worked as the chairperson of the women's wing of the party and was a prominent TDP leader.
Ever since the YSRCP came into power in AP, the TDP has been receiving a series of shocks. While three MLAs of the party have deserted it and have become open supporters of the ruling party, some TDP leaders have already joined the YSRCP fold.
