Leakage Of Assembly Videos To Be Probed
AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao will have a committee probe the leakage of the videos of the Assembly proceedings involving Roja's suspension.
Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao on Thursday said that he was planning to constitute a committee to probe the leakage of the videos of the Assembly proceedings involving YSR Congress Party member R K Roja's suspension.
He added that he would initiate action on the basis of the committee's report.
Speaking to mediapersons on the issue, Kodela said that he had nothing to do with the leakage, and rebutted the contention of Government Whip Kaluva Srinivasulu that the Speaker had given permission to leak the clippings. He said that those who leaked it had acted irresponsibly.
He also felt that some people could have recorded the proceedings either through cell phones or tablets.
Slamming the improper behaviour of the YSRCP members in the Assembly, the Speaker said that he had not ever seen such debasing in the House in his long political career.
Stating that it was highly improper on the part of the Opposition members to resort to obstructing the proceedings in the Assembly continuously, Kodela clarified that he was constrained to suspend Roja as several warnings to her to behave herself fell on deaf ears.
The Speaker asserted that he had discharged his functions impartially in the House and had no soft corner for any body. Referring to the no-trust motion tabled by the YSRCP against him, the Speaker said that the members had a right to do that if any presiding officer functioned partially.
"But I would not countermand my decision as I suspended Roja on the basis of a resolution passed by the House. Later, the videos were on the Assembly proceedings were issued to all members," he added.
