Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy criticized Revanth Reddy saying that some "thieves and useless fellows" were polluting politics for selfish ends.
Inaugurating an additional building of the Balanagar police station, the minister lashed out at the Congress leader for his recent remarks against him. (Revanth Reddy had attacked the minister for engaging in business deals while holding a ministerial office, that eventually led to a war of words between the two.)
"Some people with vested interests have joined politics and are polluting the good environment," the minister fumed. "Though they carry out campaigns with a goal to misinform the community, people should ignore them and participate in developmental activities," he added.
Speaking of his government's commitment to fighting crime, he said that the TRS government was at the forefront in trying to make the state crime-free and that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was putting in enormous effort to ensure that the crime rate came down and that the rule of law prevailed. For instance, one lakh CCTV Cameras had been put up in Hyderabad for surveillance, he said. Telangana was number one in the maintenance of law and order amongst the states of the country also thanks to a robust police force that had ben strengthened under the leadership of the Chief Minister, he said.
