Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, on Friday, expressed concern over the prevalence of rampant corruption in the judiciary.
Talking to reporters before staging a silent protest before the Mahatma Gandhi statue at the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation office, Lagadapati hailed the suspension of the First Additional Special Judge for the CBI, T Pattabhirama Rao, who recently
granted bail to former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy.
Demanding serious action against the CBI judge, he appealed to the High Court to probe further to find out the involvement of other persons in the bribery episode.
Rajagopal claimed that he was stating a silent sit-in protest to prevent corruption at all levels, and to highlight the spread of corruption in all departments.
He demanded that the judiciary act promptly on the cases relating to corruption pending in various courts in the state, and take serious action against the guilty to ensure that such acts do not recur. (INN)
