KTR Slaps Legal Notice On Bandi Sanjay

Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao on Friday sent a legal notice of defamation to Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for making "baseless" allegations against him.

KTR demanded that Bandi tender an apology to him within 48 hours of the receipt of the notice.

In his notice, KTR said that Bandi had made baseless allegations against him on the latter's Twitter handle on May 11.

KTR alleged that Bandi had made the allegations keeping in view the popularity of the minister and in order to gain free publicity through that.

He also alleged that Bandi, who was heading the State unit of a national political party, did not follow the basic standards of public life while levelling the allegations.

He demanded that Bandi either show evidence for his allegations or tender a public apology for making them.

He also warned Bandi that he would initiate defamation proceedings against him if he failed to tender the apology.

The minister issued the notice through his legal counsel.

For the unversed, Bandi had blamed KTR for the suicides of Intermediate students.
