KTR Slams "Irregularities" In Sitarama Project
The BRS working president criticized the Telangana government for proceeding with the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project without the necessary approvals.
BRS working president K T Rama Rao today criticized the State government for proceeding with the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project without securing the necessary approvals or issuing tenders.
Speaking about the State's decision to establish a commission to investigate irregularities in the Kaleswaram lift irrigation project, KTR asked how many commissions would need to be set up to address similar issues in the Sitarama project.
KTR made these remarks on his official X handle.
The ex-minister also accused the Congress government of neglecting Telangana's fishing community. He claimed that the government had taken no action despite a reported 20,000-ton drop in fish production, which he said was damaging the livelihoods of the fishermen.
He also said that while it was customary for new administrations to rename welfare schemes, the current government had caused existing welfare initiatives to disappear entirely.
KTR lamented that the government was allocating tens of thousands of crores for the Musi river rejuvenation, but that no attention was being given to releasing fish seeds into the State's water bodies that actually affected livelihoods, and accused the government of disregarding many pressing issues facing Telangana's fishing community.
