BRS working president and Telangana minister K T Rama Rao rubbished the exit poll results announced by different agencies that the Congress was going to secure power in Telangana.
He reiterated that the BRS would retain power with over 70 seats, and that December 3 would prove that the exit polls were wrong.
Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, KTR said that regardless of what the exit polls said, the BRS was completely confident of its success.
"Even in 2018, all exit polls except one predicted that the BRS would lose. It is not new for the BRS to prove exit polls wrong, and the attempt to confuse the people of Telangana with exit polls will not work this time either," KTR said.
He urged the party leaders and workers not to bother with the exit poll results, and exuded confidence that his party would form the government by winning more than 70 seats.
KTR also found fault with the Election Commission of India (ECI) for allowing the announcement of exit poll results while the people were still in queue lines at the polling stations across the State.
"I have spoken to the Chief Electoral Officer about the announcement of the exit poll results before the polling was completed. He said that the rules of the Election Commission have remained the same without any change. It will be good to change the rules that affect the voters while the polling process is going on. The Election Commission should focus on this aspect in future," KTR said.
