Exuding confidence that the BRS would retain power for a third consecutive term, BRS working president and minister K T Rama Rao said that a lot of silent voting would help the ruling party return to power in Telangana.
In an informal chat with media persons at Telangana Bhavan today, KTR claimed that the BRS would emerge victorious even in the Mulugu, Goshamahal, Huzurabad and Khammam Assembly constituencies which are currently represented by opposition leaders, and that TPCC president Revanth Reddy would be defeated in both Kodangal and Kamareddy.
Speaking of some surveys predicting that the BRS was going to be defeated, he alleged that those were fake surveys being prepared in the Congress office.
KTR also alleged that the BJP and the Congress had colluded for the election, and were cooperating with each other in many areas to defeat the BRS.
"Why didn't Rahul Gandhi campaign in the Goshamahal Assembly constituency, which is represented by BJP MLA Raja Singh? Why did Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy not campaign in the Karimnagar and Korutla Assembly constituencies where BJP MPs Bandi Sanjay and Dharmapuri Aravind are contesting?" KTR asked.
Responding to the decision of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to stop the disbursement of money under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, KTR said that if Harish Rao was wrong in the case of Rythu Bandhu, he should have been given a notice and action taken against him, but that there was no reason to stop disbursing the money to farmers.
"When the PM Kisan scheme is allowed to be implemented by the ECI, why are there restrictions on the Rythu Bandhu scheme?" KTR asked.
