Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today offered financial assistance to a girl from the Borabanda area in the city.
The girl, Anusha, was studying in the third year of the MBBS course at Kyrgyzstan's Health University, and showed her mettle by scoring 95% in the three years. Her father is a watchman and her mother sells vegetables.
Anusha returned home during the coronavirus pandemic, and was unable to return to the college to complete her course as her parents were unable to bear the expenditure involved. She too joined her mother selling vegetables on the street.
Upon getting to know of the poor financial situation of the family, the minister invited them to his office, and offered financial assistance to her to enable her to complete the course. He wished the girl the best of luck and expressed hope that she would return as a doctor.
The family members and the girl extended their thanks to the minister for his gesture.
