TRS Working President K T Rama Rao today appealed to the party workers and local leaders in the Rajanna Sircilla district to try to get candidates elected unopposed in the panchayat elections in all the villages of the district.
Taking inspiration from Lakshmipur Thanda, other villages in Sircilla should get panchayat bodies elected unopposed, he said.
The government would offer Rs 10 lakhs as a cash incentive to each of the villages where the panchayats were elected unopposed, he added.
He also announced Rs 15 lakhs from his MLA funds to panchayats where the Sarpanches and ward members were elected unopposed.
KTR was addressing an extended meeting of the TRS leaders and workers of his Assembly constituency on Thursday.
The former minister also dangled the zilla parishad, mandal parishad and society elections in front of leaders who are not getting to contest the panchayat elections now. Those who did not get a chance to contest the panchayat elections now would surely get to contest other local body elections, he promised.
