Telangana Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao carried out a surprise inspection of roads and other civic amenities in Hyderabad on Tuesday midnight and expressed his dissatisfaction towards their condition.
Pointing out to what he felt were appalling lapses in the maintenance of basic amenities like roads, bus shelters, footpaths and sewage facilities in the city, the minister slammed the officials responsible for their upkeep. He also expressed his displeasure over the poor coordination between various state and central government agencies.
Rao directed all the officials concerned to accord much higher focus to the repair works needed and complete all pending works quickly.
He also ordered the doubling of the workforce in the Kukatpally - Usha Mullapudi lane to finish the task immediately.
During the inspection, Rao also interacted with the local residents and sought to know the various issues they were facing in their localities. He assured them that the government would take steps to solve all the issues reported by them.
