Irrigation Minister K Tarakarama Rao on Sunday asked the opposition parties to prove their loyalty towards Telangana by their actions and not by mere words.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, KTR questioned the stand taken by different parties on the Polavaram issue.
He alleged that the BJP's stand on the issue has been exposed. He ridiculed the Party's contention that the Ordinance on Polavaram was prepared by the previous UPA regime. He said that the new government should have implemented new policies, and that it was not necessary for the BJP to implement a wrong stand taken by the previous regime.
KTR stated that Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu was working hard for the cause of Andhra Pradesh, while the Telangana BJP leaders had remained silent for their State. He said that the T-BJP leaders needed to prove their stand on the issue.
Similarly, the Telangana Congress leaders - Ponnala Lakshmaiah, D Srinivas and K Jana Reddy - should pressurise AICC President Sonia Gandhi to defeat the Polavaram Bill in the Rajya Sabha, he said. Despite being the lone representative of the TRS in Rajya Sabha, K Keshava Rao would raise the issue in the Upper House, KTR stated. (INN)
