Madhu Yashki Goud Terms K Kavitha Lady Mafia Don

Telangana Pradesh Congress Campaign Committee (TPCC) Chairman and former MP Madhu Yashki Goud today described BRS MLC K Kavitha as a "lady mafia don", and also alleged that she was a pawn of the BJP.

During an informal interaction with reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, Goud claimed that Kavitha had engaged in serious misconduct and was involved in various scams and fraudulent activities during the previous BRS administration in Telangana.

He alleged that Kavitha was implicated in multiple scams including those related to GST and counterfeit currency.

He also called for an investigation into Telangana Jagruthi, labelling it a corrupt organisation.

The Congress leader also claimed that during the time that Rajiv Pratap Rudy served as the Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kavitha received Rs 800 crore in the name of Telangana Jagruthi, promising to initiate skill development projects.

He also accused her of soliciting funds from organisations such as Phoenix.

"Kavitha has amassed crores of rupees through various business ventures. She is strengthening her Jagruthi platform merely to safeguard illicit funds. Moreover, she is operating under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She believes the BJP stands to gain if the BRS weakens in the future," Goud said.

He also accused BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao of not genuinely pursuing the cause of Telangana Statehood, and only eyeing the Chief Minister's post.

He said that KCR had originally assured Sonia Gandhi that he would merge his party with the Congress if he was appointed Chief Minister. However, KCR later betrayed the Congress, Goud alleged.

The Congress leader also claimed that KCR was involved in the liquor scam, and that discussions regarding the scandal took place at Pragathi Bhavan itself.
