Disgruntled Telugu Desam Party leader and former minister Krishna Yadav today joined the TRS along with his followers.
At a program in Telangana Bhavan, Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao welcomed Yadav and others with traditional pink shawls.
Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao and other leaders were present.
Yadav had to face a jail term in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, and was suspended from the TDP in 2003. Though on getting freed he got back to the TDP in 2012, its leadership ignored giving tickets to candidates recommended by him. This compelled him to leave the yellow Party to join the pink one.
On the occasion, Yadav said that he had joined the TRS for its welfare schemes and development programs. Hyderabad would be developed to global standards under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he said, and alleged that the Opposition parties were jealous of the development and welfare programs taken up by the TRS government.
Yadav said that he would strive hard to strengthen the TRS to enable it win the GHMC elections. He also expressed hope that the ruling Party would win a majority of the seats and the GHMC Mayor post.
