Komatireddy Venkat Reddy Replies To Show-Cause Notice
Commenting on his absence from the padayatra of Rahul Gandhi, Reddy asked how could he join the padayatra when a show-cause notice had been served on him.
Congress MP and former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today said that he had replied to the show-cause notice issued to him by the party high command, two days back.
He said that party leader Tariq Anwar was not available to go through his reply.
Commenting on his absence from the padayatra of Rahul Gandhi, Reddy asked how could he join the padayatra when a show-cause notice had been served on him.
He said that he would take part in the padayatra only after getting a clean chit from the high command.
It is known that the younger brother of Venkat Reddy, Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy, not only quit from his MLA post, but also resigned from the Congress in order to join the BJP. After joining the BJP, he contested as the party's candidate in the Munugodu Assembly constituency by-election, and lost at the hands of TRS candidate K Prabhakar Reddy.
The Congress alleged that Venkat Reddy had ignored the pleas of the party candidate Palvai Sravanthi to campaign for her in the by-election, in order to help his brother. He kept himself away from the Munugodu constituency till the completion of the by-election.
