An audio clip purportedly showing veteran Congress leader and Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy urging Congress leaders to vote for the BJP in the upcoming Munugodu by-election has created a lot of flutter in the political circles of the State.
In the clip, Reddy is heard asking a party leader by name Jabbar to vote for his younger brother and BJP candidate for the by-election Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy.
He is also heard telling the leader that he would take care of him if anything happened.
Reddy also reportedly told the leader that he (Reddy) would become the TPCC chief in March of next year if the Congress was defeated in Munugodu, and that he would hold a state-wide padayatra to bring the party into power again.
He told the party leader to not focus on any specific parties but to work for Rajagopal Reddy.
Venkat Reddy also appeared to be calling in a favour, telling the party leader that his brother had helped the leader on several occasions.
Reddy has decided to stay away from the by-election campaigning in Munugodu reportedly due to his differences with TPCC chief Revanth Reddy.
