Thanking Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for extending greetings to him on the occasion of his birthday in a letter addressing him as an MLA, expelled MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy asked the CM if he however did not consider that a protocol issue. He also asked the Chief Minister why he was not taking care of his (Komatireddy's) security and other facilities if he considered him an MLA.
Speaking to the media at his residence on the occasion of his birthday, Komatireddy showed them the greeting letter addressed by KCR to him on the occasion of his birthday, and said, "KCR addressed me as an MLA. He then needs to provide all the facilities due to me as an MLA immediately as he had accepted me to be an MLA. KCR had me expelled from the House, and is now extending greetings to me as if he doesn't know anything."
Referring to his expulsion, Komatireddy said that pulling up the government on the first day of the session was common in any Assembly, but the KCR government had gone to the extent of expelling Sampath Kumar and him from the House in retaliation. "We had to get justice in the High Court," he said.
Komatireddy also alleged that KCR had broken the backbones of the farmers over the past four years, and was buying their votes now with government money as elections were nearing. The farmers would be happier if he extended support prices to their produce, he said.
Targeting Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy said that he (Komatireddy) didn't expect any position though he had been in the party for the last 30 years, and it was not correct for Revanth Reddy to speak about positions.
"I don't seek any positions. My aim is to dethrone KCR. KCR will make the people beggars if he wins the elections again," he said. "It is for the high command to decide who will become the Chief Minister."
