While Telangana JAC chairman M Kodandaram described the unemployed youth rally (Nirudyogula Nirasana Rally) as a big success, TRS leaders Peddapally MP Balka Suman and MLCs Shambipur Raju and Srinivas Reddy dubbed it a total failure.
Speaking to the media at his residence after his meeting with the JAC, rally and student leaders, Kodandaram said that the students and unemployed youth who came to participate in the rally had come voluntarily. Every media entity had reported that unemployed youth and students from all universities had come forward to participate in the rally, he said.
It was also a known fact that the police had detained about 5,000 persons, which in itself clearly revealed that the rally had become a big success, he claimed.
He said that despite the rally being fought by the police, the TJAC had succeeded in communicating what it wanted to tell the people.
However, earlier in the morning Peddapally TRS MP Balka Suman along with MLCs Shambipur Raju and Srinivas Reddy stated that the rally had turned an "utter flop show".
Suman thanked the youth for staying away from the rally, and said that their disregarding it clearly showed that they expressed their confidence in the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He said that KCR was moving forward with purpose in regard to water, funds and employment. The CM had taken special interest and created a separate Service Commission for Telangana, and had appointed an original Telangana protagonist as its chairman. The government was in the process of filling 1.07 lakh vacant jobs in a phased manner, he said.
He said that KCR was the person who had appointed Kodandaram as the chairman of the Telangana JAC and who got Kodandaram to be its face. He alleged that Kodandaram was now turning on KCR, and trying to prove that Telangana statehood itself was a failed experiment as part of a conspiracy to further his own goals. He asked Kodandaram whether Telangana TDP leader A Revanth Reddy, Telangana PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and CPM state secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram were Telangana protagonists.
Provoking students was a part of that, he said, and alleged that Kodandaram was also destroying Hyderabad, which was transforming into a world class city, in the process. Kodandaram was also trying to disturb the peace in the state, he said, and asked the Telangana people to be careful about him. Suman opined that KCR was only true protector of Telangana.
He also said that it was not proper for the media to publicize rallies participated in by very few students when a majority of the students were pursuing their education sincerely. The people were extending their support to KCR, who was taking Telangana on a path of development, he claimed, and added that KCR would give full confidence to the unemployed youth.
