Former minister P Shankar Rao on Wednesday accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar of trying to sabotage the separate Telangana movement by creating a rift among the ministers from the region.
Talking to reporters at the Assembly's media point, Shankar Rao alleged that Information & Public Relations minister D K Aruna's ongoing trip to New Delhi is being sponsored by the Chief Minister himself. He said that the payment of Aruna's tickets and those of the entire group of leaders from Mahabubnagar district was being made by the Chief Minister.
He also claimed that all details could be extracted through an RTI application.
The former minister also announced that he will stop speaking to the media in future if his allegations are found to be incorrect. Demanding a detailed probe into his charges, he said that the Chief Minister is using Aruna to create a rift among Telangana ministers.
Stating that there would be some major changes in the political scenario of the state after October 17, Shankar Rao said the Congress party in the State can be saved only by removing Kiran Kumar Reddy from the post of the Chief Minister. He also said that Kiran Kumar Reddy "has opened the doors of corruption" in the state and had dropped him from the cabinet when he raised his voice against his corruption. (INN)
