CPI Slams KCR's Chandi Yagam
CPI State Secretary K Narayana has slammed TRS President KCR for performing religious rituals instead of making concerted efforts for the formation of Telangana.
Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary K Narayana on Thursday lashed out at Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao for performing a "Chandi Yagam" without making concerted efforts for the formation of a Telangana state.
Talking to media persons at his party office, the Left party leader sought to ask KCR why the TRS should exist if a separate Telangana can be realized with a Yaga (Hindu ritual to please gods).
Charging KCR of cheating the people of Telangana with yagas/yagnas, Narayana said that the Telangana state formation was possible only after the "burial" of the Congress Party.
"The Congress has failed to introduce the Telangana Bill in Parliament, despite various parties extending their support," he said.
The CPI leader also flayed KCR for targeting TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu for his ambivalent attitude towards a separate Telangana.
Demanding that the state government immediately withdraw the GO 177, which prevents employees from participating in the Telangana agitation and pen-down strikes, the veteran communist said that the GO violates the rights of employees, and that the party would intensify its agitation against the order.
Narayana also demanded that the government drop the privatization proposal of the NIMS hospital. (INN)
