CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana today welcomed the meeting of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao with the latter's Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar, and termed the meeting a good sign for Indian politics.
Narayana also asked KCR to get AP CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to join the anti-BJP alliance of regional political parties.
Speaking to media persons at the State party headquarters along with State secretary of the party Chada Venkat Reddy, Narayana claimed that to offset the efforts of KCR, the BJP was now trying to rope in Telugu movie actors to defeat KCR.
Targeting Junior NTR for meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Narayana said that the family of Junior NTR had a great history, and wondered what made the actor meet Amit Shah.
Chada Venkat Reddy said that the CPI had extended support to the ruling TRS for the upcoming by-election in the Munugodu Assembly constituency in order defeat the BJP. He said that the CPI would continue to expose the "anti-people policies" of the BJP in the State and across the country. He also alleged that the BJP was manipulating the history of the armed peasant struggle in Telangana, and added that the CPI would stop the BJP from playing its communal games in the State.
Reddy also asked the State government to work hard to achieve a hut-less Telangana State. He also raised the issue of the problems being faced by the students of the Basara IIIT, and urged the CM to focus on the problems of the students and solve them at the earliest. He also urged the CM to appoint a permanent Vice Chancellor (VC) for the institute.
