The Telangana government today decided to go ahead and conduct Independence Day celebrations in the state on August 15, despite the threat of the rampaging coronavirus.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued a GO in this regard.
As part of the state-level program, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will unfurl the tricolour in Hyderabad on August 15 at 10:30 am, the order states.
The order adds that ministers, whips and other dignitaries will participate in Independence Day celebrations in all the 32 districts.
The government has instructed the district Collectors to make the necessary arrangements for the same.
All celebrations will happen in conformance with the coronavirus protocols.
