The General Administration Department (GAD) of the government said that the main Independence Day would be celebrated at Rani Mahal Lawns in the Golconda Fort in Hyderabad. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will pay floral tributes at the Martyrs Memorial and will then proceed to Golconda Fort to helm the celebrations.
The government will conduct Independence Day celebrations at the all the districts in Telangana, too, in a befitting manner. The concerned ministers and officials will pay floral tributes at the various Martyr's Memorials, and attend the official events in the districts' headquarters to unfurl the national flag and take the guard of honour at the ceremonial parade.

The GAD directed all the District Collectors to take necessary actions accordingly. They were further requested to follow the instructions issued in the Flag Code 2002 and to avoid the usage of plastic flags.
