Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is to unfurl the tricolour at his official residence, Pragathi Bhavan, instead of at Golconda Fort, for this year's Independence Day celebrations, on August 15, at 10:30 am.
Due to the rapidly rising coronavirus cases, the Chief Minister has reportedly decided to conduct the Independence Day celebrations at Pragathi Bhavan.
As reported
earlier, the state government has taken a decision to conduct the Independence Day celebrations this year despite the coronavirus. Chief secretary Somesh Kumar had communicated this and issued a GO to that effect.
The order states that ministers, whips and other dignitaries will participate in the Independence Day celebrations in all the 32 districts, and the government has instructed the district Collectors to make the necessary arrangements for the same.
Somesh Kumar issued fresh orders today with a change in the flag hoisting programs in two districts. Accordingly, Telangana Planning Commission Vice Chairman B Vinod Kumar and whip Karne Prabhakar will hoist the flags and take guards of honour in Medchal-Makjajgiri and Adilabad districts respectively.
