Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will unfurl the tricolor at the Golconda fort this year to mark the 70th Independence Day celebrations.
After paying tributes to the Telangana martyrs at the "Veerula Sainik Smarak" at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad in the morning on August 15, the Chief Minister will drive to the fort to unfold the tricolour at 10 am. This was stated by Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma after a high-level review meeting with officials at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Sharma asked the concerned officials to make elaborate arrangements for a smooth and peaceful conduct of the Independence Day celebrations across the State. He asked for the High Court, Raj Bhavan, Assembly, Secretariat, Charminar and other noted offices and structures in the twin cities to be illuminated for the occasion. Arrangements should also be made in advance for traffic regulation, signboards along the stretch to the Golconda fort, sanitation, mini RTC buses, barricading, supply of water and power, and other facilities, he said.
Artistes of the cultural wing will perform at the fort on the occasion.
