KCR To Launch Sheep Scheme On June 20
The much-hyped sheep rearing scheme, aimed at helping the Yadava community, will be launched by the Telangana CM at Kondapaka in Gajwel on June 20.

The much-hyped sheep rearing scheme, aimed at providing a financial boost to the Yadava community in Telangana, will be launched by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at Kondapaka in Gajwel on June 20.
Under the flagship program, sheep units will be distributed to deserving beneficiaries throughout the state. Each unit will comprise of 21 animals including 20 sheep and one ram.
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that KCR would launch the program at Kondapaka in Gajwel. Yadav appealed to all the ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs and local representatives to participate in the programs for the distribution of sheep in their respective areas.
"The scheme is aimed at empowering Yadavas, comprising Gollas and Kurumas, in the state by offering the sheep units at a 75% subsidy. We have selected the beneficiaries from those enrolled into the local cooperative societies, and 50% of the families will get the sheep units this year and the rest next year," Yadav said.
The minister said that all the necessary arrangements had been made for the distribution of the sheep units, including medical facilities and fodder for the sheep. He said that 100 teams are being pressed into service to ensure that the distribution program progressed in a smooth manner. The government had also decided to offer insurance for the sheep, he added.
He exuded confidence that the sheep units would prove handy for the Yadava community to get back to their old profession and reap benefits.
