Telangana Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was "like a God" to the Yadava community as the CM had implemented several welfare programs, including one for sheep distribution at subsidised rates, for their benefit.
Along with BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar and some local leaders, Yadav held a meeting at Jammikunta in Karimnagar district to discuss the second phase of the sheep distribution scheme. At the meeting, he revealed that the distribution would be started at Jammikunta on July 28.
"Our government's sheep distribution program empowers the Yadava community. It is the brainchild of our CM who has taken many steps to strengthen the community in other ways as well," the minister claimed.
"The KCR government is determined to develop the Golla and Kuruma (Yadava) community of Telangana through support schemes and by spending huge funds on their welfare," he added.
Yadav revealed that the government had already received some demand drafts (DDs) for the sheep units and that more were awaited from Huzurabad.
"Our government is focusing on the Huzurabad constituency as we have already announced that we will start to implement the Dalit Bandhu scheme from there. So far, 2,874 DDs have been received for the sheep program and 1,500 more are yet to be received from Huzurabad. I would urge the Yadava community to avail themselves of all the programs being implemented for their benefit, now and in the future. Our government is spending Rs 11,000 on welfare. We are spending Rs 6,000 crore on the second phase of the sheep distribution program alone," the minister stated.
Discussing the other steps the TRS government had taken for the welfare of the Yadavas, he said, "We have built a community building for the Yadavas in Hyderabad which is spread across 5 acres. To ensure the success of the sheep program, we have made 100 ambulances available to in an effort to help the sheep get treatment. On dialling 1098, the Yadavas can secure treatment facilities and injections for the animals."
Reiterating that the Telangana government was committed to social welfare, the leader noted that it was spending Rs 45,000 crore on welfare measures.
