Six sets of nomination papers were submitted in favour of KCR before Election Officer Nayani Narasimha Reddy on the last day today, and none for any others.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is all set to get re-elected as the President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi during the party's plenary session on April 24.
On the last date of the filing of nominations for the post on Monday, six sets of nomination papers were submitted in favour of KCR before Election Officer and Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy.
Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiam Srihari and Mahmood Ali, ministers P Mahender Reddy and G Jagadish Reddy and other leaders submitted the nomination papers in favour of KCR at Telangana Bhavan.
Speaking to media persons later, the Home Minister announced that since no other nomination had been received for the post of president, KCR would retain the post unanimously.
He said that the formal announcement would be made during the party's plenary session on April 24 at L B Stadium. (INN)
