Former minister D K Aruna on Friday accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of trying to take credit for the achievements of his predecessor Congress government.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office, Aruna ridiculed the speeches of KCR during the launching ceremony of some industrial plants in Mahabubnagar district on Thursday.
She said that the Rs 200 crore glass plant and other projects were sanctioned and initiated during the Congress regime.
However, since those plants had become operational now, the Chief Minister was getting to inaugurate them, and was trying to take credit for the same, she said.
Aruna alleged that KCR did not bring a single rupee in investment into the State since he took over as the Chief Minister.
She said despite being the MP of the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha constituency, KCR took no steps for its development.
He was continuing the policy of negligence which had resulted in companies like Mahindra & Mahindra and Hero Honda moving their projects to Andhra Pradesh, she alleged.
She said that Andhra Pradesh had been making strenuous efforts to get investors, and KCR was failing on this front.
She demanded that KCR restore confidence among investors and also promote Mahabubnagar, which was among the most backward districts of Telangana.
With regard to the formation of new districts, Aruna suggested that Gadwal be made a new district as it had infrastructure and since the Nehru Outer Ring Road passed through the mandal.
She said that Gadwal had been a Lok Sabha constituency once in 1952. (INN)
