Instead of offering any defence for his using public money to fulfill personal vows, however, the Telangana CM just lambasted Congress leaders for their past.

Lashing out at the Opposition parties for criticizing him for fulfilling his vows to the gods, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao advised them to think twice before speaking recklessly.
Speaking to the media on Friday after offering golden "Kora Meesalu" (twirled moustaches) to Lord Veerabhadra Swamy at Kuravi, KCR dubbed the Opposition leaders as "sannasulu" for faulting his offerings to the gods.
He also flayed the communists for making "needless" allegations, and said that it was painful that a person like CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy was making such allegations.
He said that he had urged Kuravi Veerabhadra Swamy to make a separate Telangana a reality, and that he would offer gold "kora meesalu" on Mahasivaratri, and had fulfilled the same today.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced that he would allocate Rs. 5 crores for the development of the Kuravi temple and Rs. 1 crore each for the development of Dornakal and Maripeda towns. Rs. 25 lakhs to each of the 77 gram panchayats in the Dornakal constituency would also be allocated for their development, he said.
He also said that the land acquisition process was over for the Textile Park proposed in Warangal Rural district. The foundation stone would be laid soon for the park, he announced.
He claimed that Warangal district would be transformed soon to resemble the Godavari districts with the Kaleshwaram project. He also promised that adequate irrigation water would be provided for two crops to the Old Warangal district.
Reminding people that the Congress leaders had done nothing for Telangana though the people had given them a chance for 40 long years, KCR said that they were obstructing the construction of projects even by the TRS now. The Congress leaders were filing cases against the various projects in the Green Tribunal and various courts, he alleged, and said that the TRS would pull up the Congress in the Assembly's budget session with proof.
KCR also alleged that the Congress leaders' lives were marked by their slavery, spent carrying bags for the Andhra Chief Ministers. He said that the people were mere votes for the Congress leaders, who had never cared about their problems.
