Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday appealed to the farmers to cooperate with the TRS government in the development of Telangana.
Addressing a gathering in connection with the birth anniversary of Telangana ideologue Prof Jayashankar at Agriculture University, KCR said that the full implementation of the promises made to the farmers would take some time.
Stating that the new government was formed just 2 months back, he said that some more time would be required to address all the issues concerning farmers. However, he assured that all steps would be taken to ensure the welfare of farmers in the State.
KCR admitted that Telangana was facing a shortage of power, which would continue for the next 3 years. However, he promised that the entire State would get uninterrupted power for 24 hours after 3 years.
He blamed the previous Congress and TDP regimes for the problems being faced by the farmers of Telangana. He said that unlike the TDP and the Congress, the TRS government believed not in politics but in development.
Without naming Chandrababu Naidu, he challenged his Andhra Pradesh counterpart to compete with Telangana in development.
KCR also offered 15% of the seats in the Agriculture University for the students of Andhra Pradesh. However, he said that the Andhra Pradesh government would have to bear the cost of the fees for those students.
On the one hand the AP government was planning to build a new capital like Singapore by spending Rs 1.5 lakh crores, but on the other, it was not willing to bear the burden of fee reimbursement for its students, he taunted. (INN)
