Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao has predicted mid-term elections for the country and the state, with the governments at the centre and the state "collapsing in January 2011".
Talking to media persons after emerging out of a party executive committee meeting at the Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, the TRS chief said that the governments at the centre and the state will collapse after the demand for smaller states gather pace after the Srikrishna Commission's Report is submitted.
KCR also expressed confidence that the TRS would win all seats in the Telangana region, and that the Seemandhra regions would be swept by the yet-to-be announced political party of former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The TRS chief said about 70 MLAs are directly extending support to Jaganmohan Reddy.
KCR also called upon Telangana leaders to be ready to submit their resignations to their elected bodies if the Justice B N Srikrishna Commission's report recommends that the state remain integrated.
He appealed to prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and union home minister P Chidambaram to not "test the patience" of the people of Telangana, and demanded that they withdraw Central Paramilitary Forces from the state immediately.
The TRS chief also appealed to politicians from the region to push for the tabling of a bill on Telangana in Parliament, and to subsequently get it passed. He added that this should be done on the lines of the
pressure that was built on the government to get the cases against students and agitators lifted.
KCR added that the agitation for Telangana will be launched in a non-violent and non-cooperative way, and that the protagonists of separate statehood would mount pressure on the governments at the centre and the state by paralyzing the administration.
He said the police and paramilitary battalions cannot stop or suppress the aspirations of the people of Telangana.
