KCR Lashes Out At Congress For "Obstructing" Rythu Bandhu

BRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today lashed out at the Congress for "stopping" the Rythu Bandhu funds from being deposited into the farmers' accounts.

Addressing a Praja Aashirwada Sabha at Shadnagar in Ranga Reddy district, the Chief Minister responded to the decision of the Election Commission of India (ECI) which withdrew its permission for disbursal of funds under the Rythu Bandhu scheme (the ECI said that minister Harish Rao had tried to use the Rythu Bandhu disbursements as election propaganda and had thereby violated the election code).

KCR claimed that it was the Congress leaders that had lodged complaints with the ECI against the disbursal of funds under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, and appealed to the farmers to teach a fitting lesson to the Congress by voting against it in the upcoming Assembly elections.

He alleged that the Congress leaders were indulging in all manner of mischievous tactics to win the elections, and as part of their conspiracies had obstructed the deposit of the Rythu Bandhu funds into the farmer's accounts.

"I am asking all the farmers. Do you support the Congress which has prevented the Rythu Bandhu from going into your accounts? If the Congress wins by mistake, the situation will be horrible and the State will go back to the dark days. So the people should exercise their vote carefully looking at the candidates and the parties behind the candidates," KCR said.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also promised that he would take responsibility for bringing Metro Rail connectivity to Shadnagar.

"If the Metro comes here, the prices of your lands will increase three times and the area will witness more development in the days to come," KCR claimed.
