Congress leader A Revanth Reddy asked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao why he had forgotten to invite Andesri and Vimalakka for the World Telugu Conference when he had invited Andhra writer Narasimha Murthy.
Reddy then went ahead and alleged that KCR had kept Andesri, who wrote "Jaya Jayahe Telangana", aside because the latter was a dalit.
Addressing a gathering in Chevella where several TDP and TRS activists joined the Congress in his presence, Reddy said that it was atrocious that the government had made no place in the conference for Telangana artists who had played a major role in the Telangana movement.
Four people were looting the state indiscriminately, he alleged, and opined that there was a need for a political reunion to protect democracy in Telangana. The people's aspirations would be fulfilled with the Congress rule in the state, he said.
He also said that Chevella was "sentiment" for the Congress party, and that it was time to hoist the party flag there in the coming elections.
Former home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy's son Karthik Reddy said that a political reunion was indeed going on Telangana. KCR was showing a stepmotherly attitude towards the Chevella constituency, and had kept the Chevella Pranahitha project aside hurting the Rangareddy district farmers, he claimed.
Sabitha Indra Reddy alleged that several atrocities were going on in the TRS rule. Democratic rule was only possible with the Congress party, she claimed.
