BRS MLA and former minister Harish Rao today strongly criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for "claiming credit" for development projects executed during the BRS regime.
He also accused the Chief Minister of showing bias against the Siddipet Assembly constituency by halting ongoing development initiatives.
Speaking to the media at his camp office in Siddipet, Rao released an open letter criticising the Congress government's approach towards the constituency.
He said that in the last two and a half years not a single new development project had been sanctioned for Siddipet by the present government, and that all the projects being inaugurated during the Chief Minister's visit were approved, funded and completed during the previous BRS government.
The BRS MLA said that the Rs 300 crore oil palm factory at Narmetta was a BRS initiative. Land measuring 62 acres was acquired through TGIIC, farmers were encouraged to cultivate oil palm, and infrastructure, including water supply, was developed during the previous government, he said.
"The effort is ours, but the credit is being claimed by Revanth Reddy," he said.
Rao also said that the factory depended on water from the Kaleshwaram project, which was earlier criticised by Revanth Reddy. "It is ironical that the same project is now being relied upon by the current government," he said.
He also claimed that several health infrastructure projects being inaugurated now had also been developed during his tenure as Health Minister.
"But even if the Chief Minister's name appears on the foundation stones, the people of Siddipet will always remember K Chandrashekar Rao," he added.
The BRS MLA also strongly criticised the government for cancelling Rs 1,070 crore worth of development works in Siddipet, alleging political vendetta. He also accused the Chief Minister of shifting the Veterinary College project, which had already begun in Siddipet, to his own constituency, Kodangal.
